Tatari Project – SME Formation
Unlocking Career Growth & Entrepreneurship for Industrial Park Workers
At Intrinsic Consultancy, we believe that sustainable employment goes beyond just securing a job, it’s about career growth, financial empowerment, and long-term self-sufficiency. The Tatari Project was designed to address the critical employment challenges faced by young industrial park workers in Ethiopia, particularly the lack of career progression, low wages, and high turnover rates.
Intrinsic Consultancy as service provider of the BRIDGES Program, funded by the Mastercard Foundation in tandem with First Consult an economic development consulting firm implementing projects in Ethiopia.
- Through this project, Intrinsic Consultancy was contracted to empower young female workers to envision and achieve long-term career success, through advancement within industrial park and self-employment opportunities through a holistic career development and entrepreneurship program.

Financial Literacy & Economic Empowerment
Intrinsic Consultancy trained young workers on savings, investment strategies, and financial planning, equipping them with the tools to build economic resilience and break the cycle of financial instability.

A Groundbreaking Achievement: Formation of Jewata Garment Factory
One of the most transformative outcomes of the Tatari Project implemented by Intrinsic Consultancy was the establishment of Jewata Garment Factory, a women-owned enterprise established by 39 former young female workers from a garment factory called PVHAM at the Hawassa Industrial Park.
Legal & Business Structuring
We facilitated the legal setup of their business, ensuring a strong foundation for long-term success.
Access to Resources
We helped secure a workshop space with a one-year rent grace period, providing the women with a cost-free startup phase.
Seed Funding & Equipment Acquisition
We supported the group in accessing grants and funding for essential machinery and operations.
Ongoing Mentorship & Business Coaching
We provided continuous guidance, ensuring these women successfully transitioned from workers to entrepreneurs.
A Model for Sustainable Youth Empowerment
The Tatari Project’s impact extends beyond individual success stories—it serves as a blueprint for economic transformation within Ethiopia’s industrial parks. By bridging employment gaps, fostering career growth, and promoting entrepreneurship, we have helped young workers move from survival to self-sufficiency, creating a ripple effect of empowerment in their communities.
