Upskilling Youth for the Future of Work Mesirat Programme
At Intrinsic Consultancy PLC, we are committed to bridging the gap between untapped potential and real economic opportunities. Through the Mesirat Programme funded by Mastercard Foundation implemented through Gebeya a Pan-African tech leadership company that specializes in Saas enabled custom talent cloud innovation.
Intrinsic Consultancy played a pivotal role as an implementing partner in empowering marginalized and vulnerable youth—including adolescent girls, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and individuals with disabilities—with the skills required to thrive in the gig economy and formal employment sectors.
Hands-on Skills Development
Our experiential learning approach included digital literacy enhancement, entrepreneurship coaching, and professional etiquette workshops, preparing youth for diverse career pathways.
Inclusivity & Equity
With a strong focus on social inclusion, we ensured that: 🔹 80% of participants were young women 🔹 At least 5% came from vulnerable groups, including refugees and returnees
Community Mobilization & Awareness
We conducted extensive outreach campaigns to engage communities and drive participation, leading to the successful upskilling of 500 youth in Hawassa during the program’s first phase.
Building Sustainable Employment Pathways
As we move into the next phase of the Mesirat Programme, we are actively facilitating direct linkages between trainees and prospective employers, ensuring a seamless transition from training to employment. Our mission is to create lasting economic opportunities, enabling youth to secure dignified jobs, participate in the gig economy, and even launch their own ventures.
