Ethiopia plans to build four industrial parks this budget year, according to Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC).
The Corporation, together with scholars and stakeholders, is reviewing last year’s performance of industrial parks in Ethiopia.
The industrial parks exported products worth $110 million to different countries last Ethiopian budget year, up by 35% compared to the previous year.
They also created employment opportunities for 50,000 people.
However, the Corporation failed to achieve its target for the budget year due to instability in some parts of the country, it was indicated.
According to the Corporation, three industrial parks were inaugurated and entered into production last Ethiopian budget year, which ended July 7.
